Colour Monster

We devised a project to help the children explore their internal emotional landscape using The Colour Monster by Anna Llenas as the narrative support. We devised a series of art activities to support the themes and subject matter contained within the book and to support the participants to explore and expand for themselves.

— My name is Gareth Gowran and I am an illustrator and animator based in Dublin, Ireland.

— I hold a BA(Hons) Animation Degree from Colaiste Dhulaigh in conjunction with Wolverhampton University, graduated 2018; and a Higher National Diploma in Animation from Ballyfermot College of Further Education, graduated 2014.

— I am the co-creator alongside artist Sadhbh Lawlor of the web-comic and sequential art zine Splitting Borders.

— I am, since 2015, the resident artist for the Art Sparks programme run by the Dolphin House and Fatima Homework Clubs under the auspices of the Rialto Youth Project.

— I have created comic art for various clients including Atomic Diner and beActive Media.
